Since July 2020, the Willy Naessens Group has a new 3D printer.
This large format 3D printer has a print volume of no less than 1.3 x 2.5 x 1 m!

In addition to its own use, the Willy Naessens Group also wishes to make this printer available to research institutions and innovative companies. This can be in the context of graduation work, doctoral research, research projects, prototyping or all kinds of other innovative projects.

The printer can print objects in plastic starting from plastic pellets that are melted and extruded.
The temperature can be regulated. This makes it possible to print objects in a wide range of plastics (PLA, ABS, PE, PU,…) that may or may not be reinforced with carbon or glass fibers. The print bed on which is printed can be heated, which guarantees good adhesion of the object.

Depending on the size (and any degree of detail) of the object to be printed, you can choose from different nozzles.

Because the printer is also equipped with a milling cutter (different tools and diameters possible), you can also print objects “rough” for a nice finish afterwards. An example of this can be seen below. In the photo: 3D-printed pyramid, after printing (with large nozzle of 8 mm) the top was milled smooth.
