Project in the spotlights: Metvico

Metvico is a specialist in fine mechanics and precision machining. From its new company building in Pajottegem, the company supports its clients with high-end CNC machining and tailor-made technical solutions. Its activities require not only accuracy and reliability, but also a building that can grow along with its ambitions while remaining efficiently organised.

In a region where expansion opportunities for SMEs are limited, Metvico faced a clear challenge: to build to the maximum within the available plot boundaries, while paying close attention to ergonomics, future-proofing and budget control. As early as the tender phase, Metvico was looking for a partner who could offer not only a competitive price, but also provide technical input and take full responsibility for the entire process.

This combination of trust, correct commercial follow-up and technical support proved decisive in the choice of Willy Naessens Industrial Construction. Thanks to our hands-on mentality and extensive experience in industrial building, we were able to think along from the very start about optimisations, such as the integration of gravel cores and the smart use of the available surface area.

Pieter Sollier deliberately chose Willy Naessens Industrial Construction for three key reasons:

  1. Trust and transparent quotation
Clear, competitive pricing and a structured approach from the very first contact.
  2. Price/quality ratio and sustainability
The choice of concrete construction offered a durable and robust alternative to traditional steel construction.
  3. One-stop shop
Carrying out as many works as possible in-house ensures control over planning, quality and the supply chain.

“The follow-up by the project managers was meticulous, with clear communication and attention to both planning and budget,” says Pieter. “It’s also always nice to see that professional equipment is used on site!” he adds.

In addition, our experience in realising buildings with a maximum usable surface area and optimal internal organisation played an important role. By providing a shared wall along the plot boundary, a significant cost saving was achieved, benefiting both Metvico and the neighbouring property.

Execution and in-house works

For this project, Willy Naessens Industrial Construction handled a large part of the execution in-house. Our concrete plants, Willy Naessens Alu and Willy Naessens Infra were all involved. This integrated approach made it possible to respond quickly, plan efficiently and guarantee consistent quality throughout the entire construction process.

Architecture and appearance

The design of the building was realised by ADAM & EVA Architecten, who were also responsible for the architectural renderings. The result is a contemporary industrial building that meets the most up-to-date requirements, with a strong focus on functionality and natural light. The large curtain wall façade at the rear gives the building an open and innovative appearance, underlining that a metalworking company can also be forward-looking and future-oriented.
