Willy Naessens Group further expands its transport division
As a result of the growth and internationalisation of the group's construction activities, further expansion of our transport department was necessary. Construction sites need to be supplied according to the just-in-time principle, so organising and carrying out construction transport is one of the core activities within our group.
Our search for more capacity led us to an agreement with NV Smeetrans, a transport company with which there has been a partnership for several years.
It was the express wish of the Smeets family that their company came into the hands of a family company committed to further developing the business. The necessary agreements were concluded so that since 01/01/23 NV Smeetrans is part of the Willy Naessens Group.
Smeetrans is located in Peer and the day-to-day management remains in the hands of the Smeets family, which will continue all activities as a going concern.
The takeover includes the entire fleet, consisting of 12 tractors and 34 trailers, and all personnel. To sustain growth and continuity, an investment programme will be set up in the short term to provide the fleet with new rolling stock.
